Hello one and all. Before I continue, perhaps you’d like to read this blog post I recently wrote. That’ll give you all the basic info you need about this new section of the forum.

Done that? Good. Then you’ll know that this is the place for you all to work together and help us find the mole that’s managed to sneak into our lovely Agency. We’re at a loose end, and could really do with some inspiration from you talented lot. Maybe you could start by piecing together the various ‘rewards’ you’ve been receiving. Or perhaps you could throw wild accusations about and pointing the finger of blame at all and sundry. Whatever you prefer.

But we need to get to the bottom of this. We have the feeling that everything could rest on this...

So, we have a lot of pictures, a few bits of text, and something that looks a bit like a map with numbers down the side? It'll take me a little bit to collate what we have, I think... Perhaps we're looking for a name from it all?

Right, I've done bits of work on bits of this... I'm not seeing patterns so far, but here goes with what I have anyway.

The co-ordinates 36°, 67°, 78°, 35° - if you take them as two sets of lat/long you get the first location in the middle of the desert in Afganistan and the second in the Arctic Ocean, way north of Finland and Russia. So... possibly not that then? I would have thought them unlikely to be degrees in a circle, since they're all less than ninety, but I could be wrong.

"Clements Airport" most likely refers to: James Clements Municipal Airport (FAA LID: 3CM), a public airport located three miles (5 km) south of the central business district of Bay City in Bay County, Michigan, US. This airport is publicly owned by Bay City. They have water runways and ground runways.

"Multi-Purpose Precision Concussion Instrument" doesn't bring up anything specific in google, but for some reason makes me think of a cosh, or a big stick... something where "precision" is used in an ironic sense. Of course, it could also be a cryptic clue for something, in which case I ask for someone else's help because I'm rubbish at them.

"Les Jamelles: Syrah" is a red wine, a Merlot. Les Jamelles have a website which you can look around. According to that, they only seem to have been in production since 1991, which makes a vintage of 1961 (as scribbled on to the bottle) seem particularly unlikely. Since the accompanying text says "make sure you get your vintage right" maybe this is telling us that something else, some other date, is thirty years out also?

The centimos coins are the currency of Venezuela.

OK, hopefully some of that will be useful... there's such a lot to go through, I'll try and do some more soon. Smiling

The "Multi-Purpose Precision Concussion Instrument" is referenced somewhere in the Agency blurb -- possibly on the sketched bits of office? It's a hammer, in any case. The silhouette of a person (ref. Rose By Any Other Name) is, I think, Agent Herring.

"Multi-Purpose Precision Concussion Instrument" is on The Agency's own website. I'll leave you to look it up yourselves!

EDIT: Meldh beat me to it!

I love the pictures which appear to have been drawn on the backs of napkins... lol

So, a hammer, a hotel, a herring and a horse, eh? Smiling

Maybe they are supposed to represent letters. "Sharp as Thorns" could give you an iron, ice cream and an inch.

Thoughts?

The coordinates as decimal 36.67 78.35 gives a place I think may be in the Himalayas. Is there a h pattern going on?

The coordinates backwards, as things can sometimes be around here, shows where Borat would bathe his goats.

http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm

53.870 76.630

In keeping with the "H" motif, Atlas could really be Hercules??

http://www.mlahanas.de/Greeks/Mythology/HerculesPortMerion.html

The numbers on the cylinder, 114 4 44 2 18 1 115 5 98 1 122 2 , reduced yield

6 4 8 2 9 1 7 5 8 1 5 2 , possible phone # or URL??

reduced and anagram-ed yields stuff like "high fade babe' and "a bad beef high"

I wondered if perhaps we should be combining the two sets of numbers we got? But what order we should put them in, I don't know.

Maybe on the one with degrees, we're supposed to find another city starting in San Francisco and going along that azimuth.

Is anyone else seeing a possible parallel between ex-agent Falcon and Agent F?

...could of course be just me. Laughing out loud

To add to the letters theme, latitude and longitude gives you a rainbow, a radiator, and I've no idea what the other thing is. XD

So, we have HIT so far. Letters in a name, perhaps?
