Bespoke Leather...

So, there's a newly sponsored cell on the grid, for a company called bespoke leather. If you look at their page, you'll see they're anything but lovely.

www.bespokeleather.co.uk

Now, will anyone here own up to this? Or is this perhaps going to take us one step closer to finding our mole?

There appears to be a login page, but only for people who have a customer number... hmm...

 Good spot Sarah. Smiling

There is of course a puzzle to solve on this website, and doing so will take you to this website:

Spoiler: Highlight to view
plasticcastlemagic.com

It's a blog from someone inside EVIL, albeit someone who's friendly towards The Agency so it would seem.

Amadeus,

Would you mind sharing how you solved the puzzle on Bespoke Leather's site?

I assume the different classes are a factor, but can't figure out how.

Hi Rogi,

Spoiler: Highlight to view

You'll notice that when you hover your cursor over the letter L in the word Leather at the top of the website, it gets highlighted in green. That should start you off. Incidentally, the puzzle has nothing to do with the different classes.

Hopefully that should help.

Does this help?

Spoiler: Highlight to view
It's not the L in Leather in the page heading, but the L in Leather in the bolded first line of the first paragraph.

If this still fails there's always the page source Eye-wink

Yeah,

Spoiler: Highlight to view
Checking the source comes up a few characters short of the whole site (L p . t e a o C g l t S m i i) and other than possibly using the classes for the anchors, I don't see any way to sort the characters that are there to get the site name.

ETA: Spoilering by request. Not sure why. I'm still shy by 7 characters.

ETA2: Oh, there they are.  Good job.

Datango: Yeah, sorry. Forgot to make that distinction. :/

Rogi: That's correct so far, and so please spoiler it!

Spoiler: Highlight to view
Otherwise, you can't just rely on the source code, i.e. look at how those letters are presented on the website. You're also limiting yourself in other ways. Be exploratory.

Thanks, I got it now...  finding all those letters as we speak!   (Though I should be working of course!

EDIT: found them all!  Hurrah!   That was a nice subtle puzzle, well spotted Amadeus!

I'm as surprised as anyone! I've done a few of these games now and every time a new website became available someone had solved it and posted the solution before I'd even had a chance to look at it. It was extremely satisfying to have the shoe on the other foot this time. Smiling

Good solve Amadeus!

Spoiler: Highlight to view
You can get there using only the source code if you search by href="#" on all the pages and use the class code (p,m,c,d) to seperate into batches.

It's probably;

"wehatetheagency" Which would go with "andlovewearingleather" better.

At least that will make the login number nice and easy for me to remember. I was beginning to worry. XD

To the masterplan; any thoughts on username/password there? I've not come across anything so far, but then I've not solved all the open missions at the moment.

The fish now has a puzzle, maybe a password for the master plan?

Would be a simple Sudoku except for the numeral 10. Any one seen that before?

Ignoring the zero, a solve would be (across) 72169352483758112, but you know it won't be that easy.

I did have a thought about it...

I think that its;

Spoiler: Highlight to view
The agency's puzzle grid. Those solutions, that give us pictures, that relate to letters? I think this is what that is about. The numbers tell us which order to put the letters in, to give us the password to the masterplan.

I've messed around with it a bit and nothing comes out yet though. So maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree... because yes, I know one is 9x9 and the other 10x11...

*goes to ponder more*

That's what I thought too but I don't think it can be that after looking at it. I've nothing to offer at the moment but I'm interested to know how you got your answer bigeight.

Why are some question marks and some asterisks? I figured that had to be relevant somehow...

I used a solve for Sudoku and converted the ? into numbers from the solve. But there are multiple solves possible (plus the number 10) so Sudoku doesn't seem to be it.

Baconian cipher will yeild valid letters if you add a 10th column of * above and below the 0 that hangs out on the right, and use any thing other than * as  B. Nothing useful yet tho.

Well, Agent *'s email to Herring (see Herring's latest blog) does seem to suggest we're on the right lines with puzzles and their solve rewards. Which is odd, because the more I thought about it, the less I believed I was right...

So, er, I'll go stare at it some more. But I think I need to solve a few more puzzles before I'm going to get anywhere with it, so I should probably worry more about the trees and less about the forest for the time being... lol

Sweety published a new blog today. The book being held up looks like it has various birds in it. The ones in lower right are small ones and the ones above look like parrots or macaws. What does it mean?

Well, I know the book, but I don't yet see how it's going to get me into the master plan.

Any hints for those of us who have no idea what it is?

Birds of the West Indies? Wikipedia says 'The book has since become a collector's item amongst Bond fans and was featured as an homage in the twentieth James Bond film, Die Another Day when Bond poses as an ornithologist while in Cuba.'

Well, in that case...

...I have no idea how the book is relevant either. Hmm.
